OUR PASTOR
In the summer of 2004, my older sister invited me to a service at Arlington Baptist Church. There, as a teenager, I heard the gospel clearly for the first time. That fall, I enrolled at Arlington Christian School. At the age of 16, during a youth conference, I surrendered my life to Christ and committed to full-time Christian service.
After graduating from Arlington Christian School in 2008, I attended Texas Independent Baptist Seminary in Longview, Texas, to prepare for ministry. During a chapel message in my senior year, I was convicted and realized I needed to trust Christ as my Savior. With that new faith, I graduated in 2013 with a Bachelor of Arts in Pastoral Theology.
That summer, I returned to my home church in El Cerrito, California, where I served in various ministries for 13 years. In the fall of 2025, God began stirring in my heart a desire to pastor. After much prayer, an opportunity arose, and I was called as pastor of Hopewell Baptist Church in Alameda on May 31, 2026. My installation service was held on July 12, 2026.
Time and again, God has shown His mighty hand, and through it all, He has proven that the best is yet to come.
